Savannah Apex Finishes Runner-Up in Gold
Savannah Apex Varsity put together a strong day of volleyball at the PAC Tournament in Columbia, South Carolina, finishing 4–1 overall and runner-up in the Gold Bracket.
It was a long day with five matches, including back-to-back play, but the girls continued to compete from the first match of pool play all the way through the Gold Championship.
Pool Play: Savannah Apex vs. #1 Greenville Hurricanes
We opened the morning against the #1 seed, Greenville Hurricanes, and started the tournament with a win!

Apex followed the opening win with another against the Augusta Eagles, moving to 2–0.

Apex closed out pool play with a 2-0 win against Coastal Homeschool and completed a 3–0 run through the pool.

Gold Semifinal: Savannah Apex vs. Greenville Hurricanes
After finishing pool play undefeated, Apex advanced to the Gold Bracket semifinals against the Greenville Hurricanes.

The girls kept it going.
Apex picked up its fourth straight victory and moved to 4–0 on the day — the only undefeated team remaining in the tournament at that point.

Gold Championship: Savannah Apex vs. #2 PAC Panthers
The Gold Championship put Apex across the net from the tournament’s #2 seed, PAC Panthers.
After four straight wins and a full day of volleyball, we fell short in the championship against a very good PAC team.

Individually, Aubrey Gerke led the offense with 34 kills, while also adding 6 aces, 9 digs, and finishing with 30 successful receptions on 35 attempts. Reagan Martinez directed the offense with 60 assists and added 11 digs. Kayleigh Grier had a strong all-around day with 14 kills, 9 aces 14 successful serve receive, and 15 digs, while Clemy Baladi added 14 kills, 6 aces and 2 blocks.
Zoe Hauger contributed 5 kills on the day, giving Apex another offensive option at the net when called upon. Abigail Stephens added 6 kills and 5 digs, contributing on both sides of the ball throughout the tournament.
Defensively, Alexis Cutler led Apex in serve receive with 49 successful receptions and also led the team defensively with 17 digs, adding 3 aces on the day. Sophia Paxton contributed on both serve receive and defense with 36 successful receptions and 14 digs, while making an impact from the service line with 8 aces. Alexandria Dearman was steady in the back row throughout the tournament, finishing with 23 successful serve receives and 10 digs, while also adding 4 aces from the service line.

We came up short against a strong PAC Panthers team in the championship, but there was a lot to be proud of in this tournament.
Savannah Apex finished 4–1 and brought home a Gold Bracket runner-up finish. It was a great start to the kick-off of the 2026 game season!
