Stacy Martinez
Founder & Head Coach
Stacy Martinez is the founder and head coach of Savannah Apex Volleyball. With experience coaching both school and club volleyball, the upcoming season marks her 7th year of coaching athletes at the middle school, junior varsity, and varsity levels.
Coach Stacy is passionate about developing confident athletes while building strong team cultures rooted in effort, discipline, and encouragement. She holds coaching certifications, has completed the Junior Volleyball Association (JVA) Club Director Course, and is also a Mental Performance Coach, helping athletes develop confidence, focus, and resilience on and off the court.
Savannah Apex Volleyball was founded with the vision of creating a school-season volleyball program that develops athletes and prepares them for club volleyball, while building strong character and leadership through the game.
Stacy was born and raised in Savannah, often referred to as SAV, which inspired the program’s name and reflects her deep connection to Georgia’s First City. She and her husband, Armando, have three children whom they have homeschooled. Their oldest is currently in college, while their two younger children are dedicated volleyball players who train and compete year-round.
Armando Martinez
Co-Founder & Player Development Coach
Armando Martinez serves as the Player Development Coach for Savannah Apex Volleyball. He has played an important role behind the scenes throughout Coach Stacy Martinez’s volleyball coaching career, supporting teams and athletes while helping build strong program foundations.
Armando has also served as an assistant coach during previous school volleyball seasons, assisting with practices, player development, and team support.
In his role with Savannah Apex Volleyball, he focuses on athlete development, confidence building, and reinforcing strong fundamentals, helping players grow both on and off the court.
Armando was born and raised in Miami, Florida. He served in the United States Army with the 1st Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment (1/75 RGT) while stationed in Savannah, Georgia, and later at the 75th Ranger Regiment headquarters in Columbus, Georgia. After 12.5 years of military service, he transitioned to the intelligence community and worked with the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) for nearly 10 years.
Today, Armando is also a business owner and continues to invest his time in mentoring and supporting young athletes through Savannah Apex Volleyball.
